Have you ever seen or read something & you go ….. ‘ahh that’s nice’.
Then the same thing crops up in your life again & you think …. ‘yep I understand that’.
But when it pops up again – it’s definitely looking to get your attention isn’t it?
Often that’s when you really truly ‘get it’!
Well today I want to share a snippet of a speech that was given by Brian Dyson(the ex CEO of Coca Cola), which somehow has landed back on my radar this week.
It’s definitely connected with me at a different level this time.
I’m sure that like me, when you’re doing something that you love, you don’t even think of it as ‘work’.
That’s great on one hand but can also have some challenges too. Especially as it can often be hard to switch off or accept that it’s ok to slow things down at points, so it helps things move forward easier in the long term.
So have a read below & see how it resonates with you too ……
“Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air.
You name them – work, family, health, friends and spirit … and you’re keeping all of these in the air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball.
If you drop it, it will bounce back.
But the other four balls – family, health, friends and spirit – are made of glass.
If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered.
They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.”
(Brian Dyson – Georgia Tech 172nd Commencement Address – 1996)

Have a great week & speak again soon.
