I’ll be the first to admit that I LOVE how we have access to so much great & affordable technology these days. It makes our lives so much simpler in so many ways, as business owners & also customers … we’d struggle to live without it!
But it can also have some drawbacks too. Especially if you’re hiding behind your computer screen or smartphone & thinking that it’s the only way to help you connect with people.
Remember the days before email, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Snapchat, Periscope, Blab, Pinterest & the ‘latest’ thing? What did business owners do?
They picked up the phone, actually meet up with people & send stuff using snail mail!
I often hear people getting frustrated because their business isn’t growing as fast as they want it to. And that they’ve done ‘everything’ they can to share the value that they have to offer – whether that’s free resources, a promotion of their product or service or an invitation to an event or opportunity.
But when I probe them a bit more, they tell me they’ve sent emails & posted on social media.
Is that it?!?!
Yes those things can play a role in marketing and promoting your business, but there’s other things you can do too.
Imagine that you didn’t have access to all those ‘latest’ things. What could you do instead? How much of that have you been doing lately, or have you been shying away from it?
Challenge yourself today & include more ‘traditional’ methods into what you’re doing in your business.
