How to stop being a people-pleaser

Back in the ‘good old days’ when we used to go the cinema a lot, I used to treat myself to the occasional ice cream.

The cabinet would be filled with delicious flavours, many with some interesting names to choose from.

And guess what … I never went  … ‘Can I have 2 scoops of Vanilla please’

Vanilla … there’s nothing wrong with it & it does taste nice … but it’s a bit … vanilla!

And often when it comes to business, we can end up being a bit vanilla too … if we don’t watch out for it.

Why … typically it’s when we’re trying to please everyone!

Does that sound like you?

You know … when you say yes to things, even when your first reaction is no!  Or when you try to keep the peace & not disappoint anyone with the decisions your making … like your prices; services or products?

Being a people-pleaser can feel like you’re being ‘nice’ … but it could actually be doing more harm than good to you; your business & even your current or prospective customers.

So how do you stop being a people-pleaser?

I share many practical tips over on this week’s podcast episode … including examples of how I am a recovering people-pleaser & need to keep making sure I don’t have a relapse!

I also tell you how my father-in-law’s words of wisdom always helps me when it comes to this too.
